Waiting for Mama

Evie thinks it is great when she can see us working in the kitchen from her cot! She is waiting for me to pick her up after her afternoon nap.

Fame!

Evie had her first autograph signing today! Since her Daddy's CD had been dedicated to her she was asked to sign a copy - or maybe it was more like deface it!

Sunny day

Today was lovely and warm so Evie enjoyed exploring the garden, the first time she has ever been able to really do it herself.

I decided to feed Evie outside, so we had a picnic lunch and sat and watched the birds while we ate. Tash was with us for the day so he made the most of cleaning the scraps from underneath the highchair!

Pasta and more pasta! Evie has to wear a plastic longsleeved bib otherwise her sleeves get covered in food!

Watching the birds very intently.

Then she spotted an aeroplane in the sky as well! It was all very exciting!

Bookworm!

Evie often crawls down to her bedroom and pulls books out of her bookcase to read. This is one of her favourites, "The Wheels on the Bus". She is very gentle with the pages and loves turning them - no rips yet!

Classy chick!

Don't you love "the do"? Evie can't reach the center of her head to pull it out yet! She insists on finger food now and loves fruit bars. She tries to make all food finger food, which is interesting! (Don't panic, I haven't dyed the tips of Evie's hair, it's the dried grass in the vase behind her.)

This is us, well me, opening the parcel for Evie from Aunty Shona and Granny. We just love all the clothes thanks very much!!

Bonny August day

I took Evie's party balloons down today and she spent a busy morning chasing them around the house.

And doing animal impersonations!

This afternoon the three of us went for a walk to a big pond and stream area in Rangiora (Kenny had never been there before and didn't even know it existed). We fed the ducks there and the swans and cygnets, Evie really loved watching them of course!

Another busy day for Evie

I had the day off work today so decided that we would meet Kenny for lunch in Willowbank since it is only 5 minutes from his work. I had fussed about preparing a picnic lunch for Evie but really needn't have bothered because she was far too busy to eat watching all the ducks and geese.

I brought the washing in just after Evie woke from her afternoon nap. While I was out at the clothes line Evie tried to crawl out the door to me so I bundled her into the laundry basket and she sat there quite happily chewing on pegs watching me as the clothes piled up around her. Very helpful!

A winter's afternoon

It was such a lovely day today that we went to the river to get stones for our new aquarium.

Evie spent ages sitting on the edge of the river throwing stones into the water.

She would then retrieve them from the water to try and throw them back in again! Or else just to suck them!

She had a great time sitting there looking for stones to throw and pointing at goodness knows what! And to top off such a lovely afternoon we had a trip to The Warehouse!
