In Orkney

These photos of Evie were taken at Dingieshowe, a beach near where Kenny's family lives. This has been a popular walking destination for us since we've been here. The weather has been really sunny since we've been here but it can still be a chilly wind which is why Evie is wearing a thick coat!

This is another photo of Evie eyeing up the camera before she's about to lunge for it to see the "bubba" on the back screen.

Important Visitors!

These cows are just outside our bedroom window. Evie liked to pop out to say hello.

Evie is very busy drawing with her new water pen. The fabric has a dye under it so when the water touches it, the dye shows through. Then it dries and you can start all over again. Magic! No mess!

Aunty Gladys visited today with her youngest granddaughter, Ruby. Sheena bought Evie her lovely Winnie-the-Pooh jumper.

The two proud grannies!
Ruby got more kisses than she bargained for!

Busy day

I took Evie to the local beach. It was a sunny day but a cold wind.

This is the local play park in Deerness. It's too far for Evie to walk to but not far by car. Evie enjoys it but unfortunately it has no shelter from the Orkney winds! Also there is hardly ever any other children there which is a shame as the toys are great there.

Here's Evie with Granny after her bath.

Stopovers in Singapore and Frankfurt

We stayed in the Transit Hotel in Singapore Airport and were really impressed with it. Evie had a decent sleep in her cot and loved the fact that she was next to a mirror!

We went for a walk in the Airport Terminal before the shift workers arrived and the place was really quiet. Evie had a great run around and we went and had an early breakfast.

Evie had the fun of feeding the Koi fish inside the terminal. They are really big and look like goldfish except I believe they are worth a lot of money and are protected in Singapore.

Then we went to Frankfurt. Evie was excellent on the plane ride in between, she didn't sleep but was kept very busy runnung up and down the aisles! These photos are in Frankfurt Zoo where we spent an entire day. It was a typical city zoo, I think we're really lucky with Orana Park in Christchurch! Evie enjoyed herself, this was my favourite part of the zoo! One of the seals was enormous! Evie loved running around the place and looking at the other children.

This was a play park near our hotel in Frankfurt.

This is Evie in the cathedral square in Frankfurt. The architecture was beautiful but there wasn't much of the old town left unfortunately! Still there were pockets of it around the streets and it was lovely. Evie was a hit with the Japanese tourists and there are many photos of her in Japan now!

At Fernside

Evie was posing for some more photos to look at!

We went out to Mum and Dad's after Evie woke from her sleep. She loves walking out there because the cows and the neighbour's pet sheep come up to the gate to see us. We went into a friend's paddock and Evie had a wee bounce on the hay bales!

Sunny Sunday

This morning Evie and I went out to the Family Service at Fernside Church and Evie made a new friend there, Natalia, a granddaughter of one of the parishioners. It was such a lovely day that they sat on the step reading books and playing.

After the service Doug showed her an aeroplane in the sky!

I think he thought I was shooting for a fashion catalogue!
