Visit to Pop's

Today was Pop's birthday so Evie and I went up there for lunch and left Kenny at home destroying the kitchen ceiling. Evie had a nice time, even though she only had the same old toys as she has at home.

She had obviously had enough of this boring toy!

She had a great time cuddling Pop and sitting on his knee. If you look carefully you might see Louise in the background finishing off the bottle of rum - and she thought we wouldn't notice!

Of course there is always the added attraction of trying to pull off Pop's glasses.

I might have got a little carried away with the photos with Pop but I just love them all and I still have loads more! Pop had a lovely birthday and loved sharing it with Evie.

ANZAC Day

Today was a public holiday so we had the day off work. Kelli and Greg were taking their children to Lollipops, an indoor playground for children, and asked us to come along with Evie. By the time we got there it was right on Evie's sleep time but she stayed excited the whole time we were there. She loved the ball pit and it was bit of a mission to stop her sinking to the bottom!

She thought it was really funny when Jessi started shooting the balls into the hoop and we could hear her laughing at the other end of the room.

Even Uncle Greg can't resist Evie's charms! (And Kenny's!)

Jessi spent loads of time showing Evie around the playground and helping her on the toys.

Evie's first time in a toy car. Jessi pushed her around but I think Evie mainly tried to eat the steering wheel.

Tuesday 24th

Evie likes to sit behind the wheel of her car and play with the dials and buttons. She can't quite reach the floor when she's sitting on it so can't push herself along yet.

"Hello"... Evie started waving today.

She always has big cuddles with Daddy when he gets home from work. One of the highlights of Kenny's day as well as bathing her. Daddy's get all the fun stuff!

Lunch with Daddy

Today we went in to Kenny's office at midday and had lunch in there with Daddy. Then we went for a walk around the streets with Kenny and Lorcan before we went home. I go back to school tomorrow so it seemed like a nice thing to do on the last day of the holidays.

A Quiet Sunday

Evie loves riding on our shoulders. She gets a bit violent up there at times though as the only entertainment she has is a head of hair so you can guess her favourite past time!

And a graceful dismount!

All dressed up and the only place to go is bed!

Evie and I standing beside the light that Kenny put up today above the breakfast bar. We have another one to put up yet but there weren't enough hours in the day. Apparently it was a chore to shorten the cable which is why it took a while to do the job - but really I found it no bother at all!

Evie started off today sitting patiently in Daddy's office playing with her baby mobile watching Daddy on the computer. Goodness knows what Mummy was doing!

Evie was in such a lovely mood that she was entertaining Daddy more than needing to be entertained herself.

Bathies Again

This is Evie starting to style Kenny's hair. We have put her in a bath seat tonight just to trial it out but think we'll forget it for the future. She thought it was bit of a novelty though.

For some reason Evie loves having water blown onto her when she is in the bath. She thinks it is great fun.

Jolly Jumper

The wee girl could spend ages on her jumper. There is a squeak on Tigger's nose that she occasionally stands on as well so that demands a few minutes of contemplative thought as she tries to figure out what on earth just happened!

She just looked so darn cute that I had to give her a cuddle - and steal a quick photo!

Scrapbooking

I am attempting a scrapbook and this is my first page, well I have 3 pages on the go! I am just waiting to get the best glue to stick the flowers down. But doesn't the wee girl look cute!

The end of a big day!

"Don't you just love my hair?"

The wheels on the car go round and round!

Nan Bradshaw bought Evie this car and has given it to her as an early birthday present. Evie can't quite push herself along yet but she enjoys sitting on it and trying to push the buttons. Evie is fascinated with it and is starting to recognise that if she pushes certain buttons lights flash and music starts. It is one of those toys designed to drive parents crazy! I find myself singing "Daisy Daisy give me your answer do..." all day!

Bathies Time

Evie has always loved her bath and yapping away to her Dadda. Lately however she has discovered a new interest in the bath.. hairdressing or hairstyling! She will happily spend her entire bath time styling her Daddy's hair. She grabs Kenny's hair and wets it and slicks it down and won't let him go until she is happy with his new look!

Here Kenny models his new "Evie Creation" hairstyle! She doesn't seem to be so fussy about her own look!

Aunty Barbara

Aunty Barbara came to visit. Evie doesn't look to happy about it in the picture but she does love visitors and especially Barbara. She gets bored with just Mum all day. Aunty Barbara just dotes on Evie so Evie loves the extra attention. Barbara tries to teach Evie to make new sounds and tricks.

At the Park

This is "Evie's Park", there is never anyone else there so we always have the place to ourselves. She is not quite sure of the slide yet but she loves taking her socks off and sucking them! Who needs to buy expensive toys?!

Evie loves going on the swing. Kenny has put up a swing under our balcony for her but she still gets really excited when she is on the swing at the park.

We went to the park with Siobhan over Easter and Evie said her first word ... "Dadda". It's true! Siobhan was there to witness it! Kenny's pretty chuffed with his wee girl knowing her Dadda.

Easter Visitors

Over Easter we had a full house. Kenny's Aunt and Uncle, Mona and Lesley Budge came to stay for a night. They were nearing the end of their New Zealand holiday and it was great to be able to spend some time with them. Fantastic that they got to meet Evie! We also had Evie's Godmother, Siobhan, come up for a couple of nights. Evie thrived on all the attention!

Finger Food

Evie loves eating food with her hands now. She can eat these rice biscuits but we can't give her normal rusks because of her wheat allergy. Her favourite finger foods are sweetcorn, peas and brocolli - all especially messy! I now have to sweep up after her meals!
