Caroline and family
Caroline, Gareth, Freya and Ragnor came over for a visit today. It was the first day of daylight saving and Kenny had only just returned from a week away in the North Island so organising a time to visit between babies sleep times and trips to the airport was a challenge.
Evie was very excited to see her Daddy again and went all flushed and kicked her legs about laughing when we picked him up at the airport. I think she was happy about it anyway! So they had lots of cuddle time this evening and she was very much the centre of Daddy's attention - until she went to bed and then it was the car's turn as it had broken down while he was away. I really know my place!

Busy in the garden
Evie had visitors this afternoon. Kelli came over with Moana, Liberty and her nephew Jacob who is 18 months old. It was a lovely day so they played outside on the deck. Liberty was kept very busy with two babies to run around after!
I got Evie's favourite toy back out from the toy library she was crawling through it straight away and she also used it as a sanctuary when the afternoon got a little too busy for her!
She looks so gorgeous in her lovely new clothes and she gets lots of comments. She's always at the height of fashion thanks to Granny and Aunty Shona!

What dinner would you like to wear?
Dinner was a little bit of a struggle tonight. Evie settled for avocado, brocolli, chicken and hash brown. She is apparently wanting finger foods again.
Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth eh? Her cardigan did manage to stay clean during the performance as well amazingly!
A toilet duck advert came on the TV! Very entrancing!

Evie's New Toy!
Inside Day
It was raining today so Evie stayed inside all day. I put out Tash's tent for her to crawl through and play under. She had her last meningitis vaccination today so had moments of being unhappy.
I put on Baby Noah for her to watch on the TV, she really enjoys watching the animals and the puppets.
But then even that can get a little tiresome! A sure sign that just perhaps it might be bedtime!
Kenny and I bought Evie a new rubber duckie while we were away - and this one actually floats! I like to bath Evie in front of the fire when Kenny's away.
Stories before bed - "Dear Zoo" is one of Evie's favourite books as well as Spot!. She is very good with lift the flap books.

My Mystery Weekend!
We took the Tranz Alpine train through Arthur's Pass. It was a clear day so we had nice views and there was a little snow on top of the Alps.
Kenny had booked us in for a tour of Monteith's Brewery so we did that the afternoon we arrived. It was a gorgeous bar and I have to say that I don't think I pour a bad pint at all! Heaps of fun!
There were only six of us on the tour and we ended up spending the evening with a great couple from Auckland! Greg and Arndrea who are sitting at the table with me. Yes, there are some cool Aucklanders out there after all!
Kenny is proudly showing off The Warehouse bag! We ended up going there on the Sunday before we left as it was one of the very few shops open and we had 3 hours to kill before the train journey home. Kenny is standing in front of the Hotel Kingsgate where we stayed the night. We were in one of the rooms in the "Tour Block" which you can see in the photo. It looked out over the river and was lovely.
We also looked out over this clock beside the river and it was nice lying in bed hearing it chime in the morning. A great weekend!

Sunday Walk
Moana had stayed the night at Mum and Dad's and wanted to go to the park with Evie. So on Sunday I fitted the extra toddler seat to the buggy for Evie and we walked to the park, it is a bit far for Moana to walk still. Evie thought she was King of the Castle! (Ignore the old trackies - what a state!)
